CHAPTER 12
Scoring & Victory
Campaign Setup chooses whether score or elimination is the primary victory mode. In either mode, the war also ends when only one active faction or alliance remains—or immediately if the human-controlled faction is eliminated.
CAMPAIGN SCORE
What contributes to the total
Unit value
The current combined value of a faction’s surviving units contributes to its strategic position.
Combat results
Damage, destroyed enemies, kill count, and kill value are tracked through battles and campaign totals.
Sector value
Total score combines unit, kill, and sector values. Controlled-sector value is awarded again at the end of each completed turn.
Elimination awards
Destroying a star base records the removed ships and outposts as kills, awards their normal multiplied kill value, and adds the defeated faction’s controlled-sector value.
CONTROL TERRITORY
Capture and hold sectors
An unopposed faction can claim an eligible neutral sector after movement and battles are complete. The sector changes to the faction’s color and an outpost is created when no station or outpost already exists.
A victorious faction captures an enemy sector or holds a sector it already owned. The victory screen uses CAPTURES or HOLDS to distinguish the result.
Controlled-sector value is awarded again after each completed turn. Holding valuable territory produces recurring income as well as strategic control.
REMOVE A FACTION
Destroy the star base
Destroying a faction’s star base triggers an elimination result. The defeated faction’s remaining ships and outposts are removed, and its territory is cleared from active ownership.
The faction-eliminated screen identifies the defeated side and reports the points gained by the victor. Eliminating the human-controlled faction ends the campaign immediately, even if an allied faction survives; otherwise the countdown and pause control allow time to inspect the result before the war continues.
END THE WAR
Choose the campaign’s victory mode
Reach the score target
The first surviving faction to reach or exceed the campaign victory score wins a point victory. If only one faction or alliance remains first, that side wins without waiting for the target.
Remove every opposing side
The score threshold is ignored. The final active faction or alliance wins after every opposing side has been eliminated.
The game first explains why the war ended, then displays WE HAVE WON or WE HAVE BEEN DEFEATED from the player’s perspective, followed by final campaign statistics.
VICTORY SCREENS
Pause, inspect, and continue
Battle victory screens include a countdown bar and a pause or inspect control. Let the countdown expire to continue automatically, or pause it when more time is needed to read the score grid.
During a campaign battle sequence, Next Battle resumes war resolution after inspection. Quick-battle victory remains on screen long enough to review the final result before returning to the start flow.
